Welcome

This blog will show my shunting HO layout. It is a shelf shunting layout with inspiration from the terminals in New York that were accessed by car floats. The layout is ## x ## and consists of nine rail served industries.

Cars enter and exit by a car float. Car routing is determined by waybills that specify the type of car and its destination with this information transcribed onto a switching list that the crew utilize.

The east end of the yard. This view is from the east end looking west. A road overpass bisects the yard taking bust traffic away from the operations.

The west end of the layout looking east. On the other side of the overpass are more industries and a level crossing that is occupied a lot of the time when cars are being placed at industries at this end of the yard.
